“Kölner Dom functions as the main church and holds the respected reputation of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church is 516 feet, and the building started on August 15, 1248. Some art historians describe the church as a “perfect cathedral” for its design. The church was viewed as a national symbol of Germany when it was built. The church has a style element of Gothic and neo-Gothic. Kölner Dom has addressed those with hearing impairments by setting up a hearing loop system in specific areas to help individuals with hearing aids. The church enables visitors to engage deeply in the history of this structure and its notable works of art. Kölner Dom accepts daily prayer requests and also illuminates candles on behalf of individuals. There are also special times for confession before Christmas and during holy week.

2025 Update: Kölner Dom is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Cologne. The church's history spans over 1700 years. The church was designed by Ernst Friedrich Zwirner and is wheelchair accessible. Visitors can enjoy a landscape view of the city centre from the platform of the south tower, at a height of around 100 metres.”
