“ 2025 Update: Café Schmidt has a pastry chef, Karl Guth. The cake shop prepares the baked goods without losing the creaminess of the frosting or the softness of the cakes. Their pastry chefs mostly use regional ingredients for the cakes, wheat from the Rhine plain, fruit from the Kaiserstuhl, and milk from the Black Forest. With over 80 varieties, Café Schmidt creates chocolates and truffles that are individually handcrafted using fresh ingredients. They prepare over 20 cakes and cream cakes every day, which are all handmade. Café Schmidt provides space for 200 guests inside and outside.”
