DELLBRÜCKER HEIDE
“Dellbrücker Heide is a well-known hiking trail and picnic place in Cologne. The area spans 39 hectares and is a nature reserve in the northern region of Cologne's Dellbrück district. Dellbrücker Heide includes forest paths, heathlands and a lake. The sanctuary is home to a diverse range of small animals and bird species. Dellbrücker Heide is one of North Rhine-Westphalia's most species-rich natural areas. It shelters endangered species such as the blue-winged grasshopper, sand lizard, and rust banded butterfly, as well as habitats like silver grass corridors. Bündnis Heideterrasse eV, an umbrella organisation takes care of the preservation and conservation of the natural reserves in this area.”
